Q&A Series: About Derma
Q1: I am a vegan - are Derma's skincare products vegan?
A1: Yes, most of our products are 100% vegan, and we are in the process of getting Vegan Society certification for our products so you won't have any questions. However, some of our products contain beeswax (Cera Alba), lanolin (Lanolin) and honey (Mel) and are therefore not suitable for vegans. Please check the ingredient list on the back of the product; if it contains Cera Alba, Lanolin and Flour, it is not vegan.
Q2: Does Derma use animals for testing?
A2: Of course not! Derma never uses animals for product testing. Since March 2013, the European Union has banned all forms of animal testing for cosmetics, so it is illegal to write "not tested on animals" and "cruelty-free" on packaging. This applies to all products produced in the EU. In other countries or regions, the laws may be different.
Q3: Why are the colors of Derma products different?
A3: The color of natural raw materials may vary slightly depending on harvest and season, so the color of different products may vary slightly. The natural oils we use vary according to harvest and season, Derma's products display the colors that nature gave them.
Q4: Why do Derma's organic products change color over time?
A4: Some organic raw materials may change color when exposed to oxygen, which does not mean the product has gone bad. Additionally, our preservatives may also change color over time and we are looking for a replacement. Please rest assured that this does not affect the effectiveness of the product.
Q5: Why do Derma products have a smell?
A5: Everyone perceives scent differently, and some people think our products leave an unfamiliar scent on their skin. Since our products are fragrance free, they may have the natural odor of the raw materials. Of course, we try to choose fragrance-free raw materials.
Q6: What is an airless packaging container?
A6: Airless containers are sealed. The benefit of storing the product this way is that the contents never come into contact with air, so the risk of microbial contamination is greatly reduced, which means that products in airless containers require less preservatives. Airless packaging works by creating a vacuum inside the container when you press on it, virtually sucking the contents out.
Q7: Are Derma's skin care products chemical-free?
A7: In our daily lives, the word chemistry is often used to refer to dangerous and harmful substances, but in fact everything is the result of chemical reactions. For example, the natural oils used in Derma products are the product of a plant chemical process. At Derma, we focus on chemicals that are good for the environment and your health, while avoiding those that are harmful. Most of our products are Nordic Ecolabel and Asthma Allergy Nordic recommended and therefore do not contain harmful chemicals.
Q8: Will Derma's lotion penetrate the human body?
A8: The skin is our largest organ and some substances can penetrate the skin and enter the body. Therefore, it is important to use certified products like Derma so that you can be sure that its ingredients have passed rigorous testing.
Q9: Can I use Derma's skin care products during breastfeeding or pregnancy?
A9: Since the ingredients of some skin care products may penetrate into the human body and affect pregnant women and babies, the best advice is to use certified products and minimize the amount used. Derma's products are certified by the Nordic Ecolabel and Asthma Allergy Nordic, so they are safe to use.

Q18: Which product is recommended for babies with sensitive skin?
A18: If your baby has sensitive skin, it is recommended to wash with clean water instead of using bath products. If further cleansing is needed, use the moisturizing "Water-Replenishing Shampoo and Body Wash". For daily care, you can use "Organic Moisturizing Skin Cream". If you need extra moisturizing, you can add "Organic Massage Bath Oil" or "Organic Soothing Allergy Cream".
Q19: "Organic waterproof physical sunscreen" is difficult to spread and turns white. Is this normal?
A19: Less allergenic physical sunscreens may be harder to spread and may cause a white cast, which is normal. It is recommended to apply in dots and spread evenly.
Q20: What is the difference between "Organic Moisturizing Skin Cream" and "Organic Soothing Allergy Cream"?
A20: Skin care cream mainly provides sufficient moisture to the skin, while all-purpose ointment can enhance moisturizing and relieve skin discomfort.
Q21: Do I need to rinse after using "Hair & Body Wash" or "Organic Massage Bath Oil"?
A21: Experts recommend that any cleaning products should be rinsed thoroughly because baby's skin is more fragile. However, massage bath oil can be used as massage oil itself, so there is no need to rinse it off separately.
Q22: Is the "Derma Family Series" suitable for all age groups?
A22: Yes! The Derma Family Series is specially designed for the whole family and can be used by all ages and skin types.
Q23: Why are the stickers on Derma products crooked?
A23: These stickers were made with the help of disabled friends from the Eden Foundation - Jiuguozi Studio in Taiwan. They are always careful and attentive, but their work may not be perfect. We respect their efforts and are proud of them.
